The Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society will be hosting a talk by Peter S. Wood on “Engaging Kids and Teens With Local History” at the Russells Mills Schoolhouse on Sunday, December 1, from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

The talk will focus on the needs of different age groups when working with local historical societies.

Guest speaker Peter Wood, Vice President of the Middleborough Historical Association, began volunteering with the Association in 2016 with an interest in local stories as well as how local history is taught to future generations.

Peter earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Bridgewater State University in 2018. In school, much of his work focused on linguistics, bias in broadcast media, and geographic information systems.

This subject is important to ensure the long-term success of small non-profit historical societies.

Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society invites all its members and friends as well as other local historical organizations to come and learn.

Refreshments will be served and a $5 donation is recommended.
