Hixville sign restored

Apr 1, 2020

A month after it was destroyed by a car, the welcome sign to Hixville village has been returned to its original state by resident Jonathan Baci.

According to Baci, a driver on Fall River Rd. “plowed into the sign” at night in early February.

“He just jumped the curb and mashed the sign down,” he said. “It was pretty dark.”

Following some consultation with the Dartmouth Historical Society and figuring out if the sign was covered by the insurance company, Baci and his father, Rev. Edward Baci, spent March 27 piecing the sign back together.

“Anything to keep the history of the town more authentic,” he said.
