Humane Society moves adoptions, Easter event online
Dartmouth’s Humane Society and Shelter on Ventura Drive will move the majority of its operations online for the next few weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to a press release, the shelter is asking people interested in adopting animals to request applications or inquire about an animal by emailing shelter director Mel Ventura at mventura6089@comcast.net.
Adoptable animals are listed on facebook.com/SOUTHCOASTHUMANE under Animals to Adopt.
The shelter will be holding its Easter raffle online, with Easter basket photos on the shelter’s Facebook page. Anyone interested in entering the raffle can call (508) 995-6661 with credit card information to purchase raffle tickets, which cost $20 for 25 tickets.
The Easter Extravaganza event is moving online. Still scheduled for April 4, the event will no longer be held at the shelter — instead, it will be a Facebook live stream, with winners called on the phone.
Finally, the shelter’s annual Foxwoods trip, scheduled for May 3, will be postponed until further notice.
“More than ever, our Shelter needs donations to help us with costs of food, supplies, animal care and potential medical costs so we ask all animal-loving people to visit our Donate page at hsssc.org/donate and donate through one of the links available on that page,” the Humane Society’s statement finished. “All contributions, no matter how large or small, are extremely important and appreciated.”
