James L. Crook, 73
CDR James Lincoln Crook, USNR retired, 73, of South Dartmouth, passed away surrounded by his family on January 10, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
He was the husband of Diane (Francis) Crook with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.
Born in Pawtucket, RI, he was the son of the late James Crook and Naomi (Ferreira) Crook. Jim was an avid reader, enjoyed fly fishing, and loved traveling to new places throughout the world with his wife.
CDR Crook graduated from Dartmouth High School, and earned a BS and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, as well as a JD from New England School of Law.
He served on the USS John Willis (DE 1027) as well as the staff of COMDESRON 10. He was very proud of his 26 years serving our country. He retired as senior claims examiner for Lexington Insurance Company in Boston.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Dr. Jennifer Crook of Plymouth and Jill Crook Trebbe of Hampden; four grandchildren, Carissa Womeldorph and Nora, Anne and Charles Trebbe. He is also survived by two sisters, Carolyn Brehaut of South Dartmouth and Beatrice Kalp of Sumer Oak, VA as well as several nieces and a nephew.
Burial was private with full military honors at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. ‘
