Janet Macedo, 86, of Dartmouth passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on April 17, 1934 in New Bedford, the youngest of a large family. Janet spent her life dedicated to her family. Her husband, Frank J. Macedo was the love of her life, the sun in her sky, and now the wings so she can fly. She had two children, Michael and Kathleen, whom she loved and adored. She often told stories of their childhood as well as their accomplishments as adults, typically hinting that those traits were passed down from her.

Janet lived life not only for her family, but for its simple pleasures. She loved losing herself in books, the excitement of a good casino, especially when luck was on her side, and spending time with loved ones. She enjoyed grabbing a burger and fries with her friends on Wednesdays, something she rarely missed, as well as seeing family members at gatherings, such as barbecues and the holidays.

Janet held several jobs, retiring as a matron at Apponequet Regional High School over 20 years ago. She enjoyed spending time with her co-workers during lunch and seeing her grandchildren at school. Throughout her work life, she instilled the value of hard work and pride upon her family members.

Janet is survived by her son, Michael Sr.; daughter, Kathleen; grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael Jr., and Jessica, along with five great-grandchildren, many cousins and extended relatives. She will be greatly missed and certainly never forgotten.
