John C. Neto, 63, of Dartmouth died Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Brigham & Women's Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Joanne M. (Soares) Neto and son of the late Joao and Filomena (Andrade) Neto.

Born in Faial, Azores, he immigrated to New Bedford with his family at the age of 4 and resided in Dartmouth for the past 23 years.

John loved his job and was a dedicated employee of Long Built Homes for many years. Boating was John's passion and he spent many blissful and carefree hours on his boat, “Jo-kir” and participated in many activities with his fellow boaters at Popes Island Marina. John had a beautiful smile and created many meaningful and lasting friendships wherever he went.

He also enjoyed dining out with family and friends, riding his motorcycle and playing guitar.

His family includes his wife; his devoted daughter, Kirby B. Neto and her partner, David Scalata of New Bedford; his brother, Manuel F. Neto and his wife, Helen of Dartmouth; his sister, Maria Manuela Sousa and her husband, Fernando of Dartmouth; his Godchildren, Deborah Smith and Tomas Aguiar and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends and his granddogs.

A service for John will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday, January 5, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. Visitation prior to the service from 9:30 A.M to 11:00 A.M.
