John Costa Jr., 80, of Dartmouth, passed away on March 18, 2020 at his home. Born in New Bedford, MA he was the beloved son of the late John Costa, Sr. and Maria Costa.

John had been a carpenter for many years. He loved to make birdhouses, in which, he sold all over New England. He was a longtime coordinator, greeter and collector for St. Mary’s Parish in South Dartmouth.

He is survived by his friends and caretakers, Annette Gamache, Mary Jackson and many other friends at St. Mary’s Church in South Dartmouth.

John had been a “brother” to the late Jerry Gamache, Annette’s husband, as his caretaker. His compassion towards Jerry was exemplified through his personal care and love that will always be remembered by and treasured.

John’s funeral services will be private. A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date due to the COVID-19 Pandemic restrictions. Please check back on our website in the near future for the update.
