Born in Porto de Mos, Portugal, she immigrated to the United States in 1966. She was the daughter of the late Antonio de Matos and Maria Inacia Correia.

Mrs. Ferreira worked as a stitcher at Cliftex Manufacturing in New Bedford.

Mrs. Ferreira was a very talented cook who loved cooking for her family. She was always very active, full of energy and enjoyed her walks around town. She and her husband enjoyed going out for coffee and sweets.

She loved her family very much and cherished the company of her great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Norberto M. Ferreira of Fort Myers, FL, Georgette Vieira of Dartmouth and Antonio M. Ferreira of West Hollywood, CA; her siblings, Urbano Vieira de Matos (deceased), Maria do Rosario de Matos Correia (deceased) and Idalina Conceicao Correia de Matos; two grandchildren, Michael Vieira of Acushnet and Jessica Dragon of Berkley; two great-grandchildren, Devyn Vieira and Ethan Vieira; and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother-in-law of the late Joaquim “Jack” Vieira.
