Kenneth R. Zimmerman, 83, of Dartmouth, passed away on Wednesday,Dec. 9, 2020, at St. Lukes Hospital, New Bedford. Ken was born in Palmyra, PA to the late Marlin and Ruth (Snyder) Zimmerman. He was predeceased in marriage by Doris F. (Sylvester) Sepuka and L. Jean(Breneman) Zimmerman.

Ken was a graduate of Hershey High School and Drexel University. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast; coaching youth hockey and baseball teams in the 1970s in Barrington, RI where he previously resided. He avidly pursued his lifelong passions of sailing, skiing and running well into his seventies. A salesman by trade, his ability to easily engage others was a hallmark of his personality. As a devoted dog keeper and trainer, Labrador Retrievers held a special place in his heart.

Ken is survived by his son’s families, Tim and Kathy Zimmerman of Great Falls, VA and Ted and Shelley Zimmerman of Seekonk. An avid cheerleader of his grandchildren’s activities and accomplishments, he leaves Zachary, Cory, Jake, Matthew, and Laura. Ken leaves two sisters and their families: Marilyn Gherardini of Annville, PA and Delores Prudoehl of Saint Charles, MN; and a sister-in-law and her family, Rae Stamatakis of Seattle, WA.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of the Hawthorn Kidney Center for their care and compassion.

Arrangements are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Road. Burial will be private.
