L. Barry Tinkoff, 83
Attorney L. Barry Tinkoff, 83, of Dartmouth died Jan. 2 at home.
He was the husband of Margaret Anne (Charade) Fredette.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Milton and Ida (Gorodinsky) Tinkoff.
He was a graduate of Cheshire Academy, New York University - University Heights, and Boston University School of Law.
Tinkoff had a private law practice in Fall River until his retirement. He had served as assistant district attorney for Bristol County and the Islands from 1964 to 1968, and was assistant prosecuting attorney for the Cape and the Islands from 1970 to 1972.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lions Club and Mount Hope Lodge A.F. & A.M. He was a member and past president of the Exchange Club of Fall River and president of A.A.R.P. Chapter in Daytona, FL.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Milton E. Tinkoff and his wife Shelley of San Francisco, California, and Roger L. Tinkoff and his wife Holly of Piedmont, California; a sister, Rhonda S. Tinkoff of Boca Raton, Florida; and a granddaughter, Zofi R. Tinkoff.
