The Dartmouth Education Foundation is asking for the communities support. The annual Spelling Bee is the Dartmouth Education Foundation’s sole fundraiser.

The foundation uses the funds raised to award grants to educators from across the Dartmouth Public School system. Working collaboratively with the Dartmouth Public Schools administration, it evaluates all grant submissions, granting as many requests as possible.

Last year, with the help of its sponsors, the foundation was able to award 14 grants totaling more than $14,000, directly benefiting students from every school in Dartmouth.

As the annual bee approaches, Stephen Witzig, co-chair of the Dartmouth Education Foundation, said, “The annual bee is not just a fun event, it's an opportunity for us to provide additional funds that directly impact students and teachers.”

June Saba-Maguire, Dartmouth Public Schools Superintendent, said, “I am excited about my first bee as Dartmouth’s Superintendent and am grateful for the widespread generosity and support of the Dartmouth community as we work together to ensure that Dartmouth students continue to receive the excellent education they deserve.”

The bee is free to attend. Doors to Dartmouth High School will open at 6:30 p.m.
