Learn Ukrainian Pysanka Egg Dying

Learn the art of Ukrainian Pysanka Egg Dying on March 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Dartmouth Cultural Center. The intricate designs are made with a wax resist method. Special tools called kitskas are used to do the writing in wax. The wax writing is done step by step along with dying from the lightest to darkest color. The wax is then removed to reveal the masterpiece beneath. The class, taught by Karen Zoukas, will begin with a traditional design.

A $10 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the beginning of the class. Registration is required at least five days in advance of the workshop.
