Liduina Medeiros, 92
Liduina (Frias) Medeiros, 92, of Dartmouth died peacefully on Aug. 20 at St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Joseph Medeiros.
Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late John C. Frias and Antonina (Rapoza) Frias, she was a longtime resident of Dartmouth. Prior to retiring in 1971, Wina was a cloth inspector at the former Gosnold Mill for 15 years and was a cafeteria worker at DeMello School in Dartmouth for several years.
She attended St. Mary’s Church in South Dartmouth. She was a devoted homemaker who loved feeding family and friends, crocheting and growing vegetables and pansies.
Her family would like to thank her compassionate caregivers, especially Adjoa Osafo, Ana Raposo, Betty Magan and Angela Arvasdis, and the staff at Autumn Glenn who provided comfort and care for the past several years while she was in residence there.
She leaves two sons, Joseph Medeiros Jr. and his wife Isabel M. of Dartmouth, and David J. Medeiros of Dartmouth; two grandchildren, Stephen Medeiros and his wife Susan of Dartmouth and Melissa Medeiros Desrosiers and her husband Matthew of New Bedford; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Nathan Medeiros; 3 sisters, Alice Sylvia, Helen Martins, and Leonora Carvalho all of Dartmouth; three Godchildren, Joyce Amaral, Antone Sylvia and Jeanne Ferreira, and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Olivia Medeiros, John C. Jr. and Frank Frias.
Her Funeral will be held Aug. 24 at 10 a.m. from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Road, with a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 783 Dartmouth St., Dartmouth followed by burial in Rural Cemetery, New Bedford. Relatives and friends are invited.
