Lillian Churro, 91

Lillian (Moniz) Churro, 91, of Dartmouth, died at home Tuesday, April 16 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Maria (Rezendes) Moniz and the wife for 64 years of David A. Churro.

Lillian was formerly employed as a stitcher for Monarch and Ethan Ames and she was also formerly employed by St. Luke’s Hospital as a home health aide until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Mary Church, South Dartmouth.

In her leisure time she enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches and reading. She was a former member of the Moose Golden Agers.

Lillian’s family is most grateful for the kind, professional assistance they received from the Southcoast Visiting Nurse’s Association Hospice.

Survivors include her husband, David A. Churro of Dartmouth; two daughters, Karen Morin of New Bedford and Doreen Churro of Madisonville, Louisiana; two grandchildren, Tara Ford and her husband Garrett and Steven Goulart and his fiancée Claudine Copeland, all of Florida; two great grandchildren, Hayden and Jackson of Florida; special friends Jimmy and Sandra Rego; several nieces, nephews and godchildren.

She was the sister of the late Alfred Moniz, Albert Moniz, Bertha Freitas and Gilda Freitas.
