'The Little Mermaid' makes a splash at Dartmouth High School
The Dartmouth High Theatre Company's production of "The Little Mermaid" drew big crowds at its April 28 debut.
Starring junior Alyssa Maitoza as Ariel, the Dartmouth High theater was packed with families looking to enjoy a magical evening under the sea.
With live musical performances, sprawling sets representing underwater scenes, and an large ensemble cast, tickets to see the show were in such high demand that the theater company had to put a cap on the number available to purchase in advance.
The debut marked the first-ever musical performance of "The Little Mermaid" in southeastern Massachusetts, according to co-director Denis Lawrence Jr., who promised a show that would "delight audiences of all ages."
The April 30 performance was made extra special by a visit from the "Princesses of New Bedford," who dressed as Snow White, Rapunzel, Belle, and Elsa and Ana.
