Lloyd Center awarded state grant

The Lloyd Center for the Environment has recently been award a $14,300 grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the Dartmouth-based nonprofit announced.

The grant was awarded through the MCC’s Cultural Investment Portfolio Grant Program for cultural public programing. According to the Lloyd Center, funds will go toward providing environmental research and education services to the schools and residents of southeastern Massachusetts. 

“The Lloyd Center provides access to first-rate science programs for local underserved youth who otherwise might not have the opportunity for hands-on experiential learning that brings environmental science alive,” said State Sen. Mark Montigny (D-New Bedford). “his grant will help ensure that children can continue to benefit from these programs, and I sincerely thank the Lloyd Center staff for their efforts in developing and delivering these high-quality programs.”
