Local author Ann Parson will be giving an illustrated lecture of her new book, “The Birds of Dog: An Historical Novel Based on Mostly True Events” at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 21 in the Haskell Room at Southworth Library. 

Going back to the 1800s, the book looks at the early days of the Boston Society of Natural History and the Audubon Society. Parson has written several other books in medicine, technology and the environment. Copies of her latest book will be available at the presentation. The Friends of the Dartmouth Libraries is hosting the event.
