Lynch cut by Miami Dolphins, picked up by New York Jets
Former Dartmouth High football star Arthur Lynch was cut by the Miami Dolphins on Monday, Aug. 17, but was signed by the New York Jets off waivers just a day later.
Lynch, 25, was a fifth-round draft pick of the Dolphins in the 2013 NFL Draft, didn't play a snap in the 2013-14 season after being placed on injured reserve with a back injury.
The tight end was part of Dartmouth High School's Division 1 State Tournament runner-up in 2007 that featured current Carolina Panther running back Jordan Todman and NFL hopeful and former Boston College defensive back Sean Sylvia. He played college football at the University of Georgia, and as a senior, he was named to the All-SEC first team.
According to the Miami Herald, Dolphin Head Coach Joe Philbin called Lynch "a great guy," but didn't consider him to be one of the team's top five tight ends.
