Man accused of two stabbings at Dartmouth motel

A New Bedford man was arrested by Dartmouth police on Monday, Feb. 27 in connection to two stabbings that occurred at a Route 6 motel.

Police said officers were called to the Dartmouth Motor Inn at around 9:05 p.m. for a reported disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers learned that a 63-year-old New Bedford man was stabbed in the face during an altercation with another man, later identified as 33-year-old Tory Carter.

Carter is also accused of stabbing a 37-year-old woman from Southbridge.

Both victims, whose names were not released by police, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford.

Carter has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing bodily injury, assault and battery on a household member. He is also charged with assault and battery on a person over 60 causing serious injury, among other charges.
