Man arrested for narcotics, posession of stun gun

A Dartmouth man was arrested Sunday evening after police found him operating an unregistered vehicle on a suspended license, along with possession of narcotics and a stun gun.

Police said 25-year-old Gary Hamel was stopped at around 6:10 p.m. on Faunce Corner Road after an officer found the Dartmouth resident’s registration had been revoked. It was also found that Hamel’s license was suspended.

According to police, after Hamel's arrest, officers found suspected fentanyl and crack cocaine, along with a stun gun in Hamel's possession.

The 25-year-old has been charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, possessing a Class A and a Class B drug, and carrying a firearm without a license.

Hamel was previously arrested this past August for allegedly trafficking fentanyl.
