Mary (Meggison) Sciscento, 96, of Punta Gorda, Florida, died Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Life Care Center following a period of declining health.

She lived most of her life in New Bedford and Dartmouth, as well as California and Florida. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Julia (Quinn) Meggison.

Mary spent many years volunteering at Dartmouth Council on Aging, where she was known as “Mary Sunshine.”

Survivors include her children, Kathleen and Peter Clark of California, Margaret Sciscento of Florida, Stephen and Elizabeth (O'Neil) Sciscento of Rhode Island, and Mary Elizabeth and Michael Bettencourt of Florida. She leaves 5 grandchildren, Michelle, Nicholas, Tess, Kyle and Bridget; 5 great grandchildren, Ava, Luke, Maseo, Benjamin and Charlotte.

Her mass of Christian burial in St. Mary Church, South Dartmouth and interment in St. Mary Cemetery were private and entrusted to Aubertine-Lopes Funeral Home, 129 Allen St., New Bedford. For online guestbook, visit www.aubertine-lopes.com
