Michael S. Calvin, 42, of Dartmouth, passed away on August 12, 2017 surrounded by his loving family in Charlton Memorial Hospital after an extremely courageous and selfless battle with cancer for 13 years. He was the husband of Bethany L. (Bruneau) Calvin to whom he had been married for 17 years.

Born in New Bedford, the son of Susan (Ouellette) Calvin and her companion William Conlon of Westport and Bruce W. Calvin Sr. and his wife Dolores of Haines City, FL, he was a graduate of Dartmouth High School and went on to receive his associate’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Bristol Community College.

Calvin was an avid outdoorsman and fishing enthusiast, and was a member of the Fall River Bowling Green Fishing Club where he was recently named Angler of the Year in 2017. He was also a member of the Lakeville Family Worship Center in Lakeville.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife and parents are two children, Jacob Michael Calvin and Sarah Elizabeth Calvin of Dartmouth; two brothers, Bruce W. Calvin Jr. and his wife Jennifer of South Dartmouth and William J. Calvin and his wife Debby of Germany; niece and nephews Nicholas, Crystle and Matthew Calvin, all of Dartmouth; father and mother in-law Paul and Theresa Bruneau of Dartmouth; a brother in-law, Tim Bruneau, of Dartmouth; and several aunts, uncles cousins and good friends.

His funeral service will be held on August 17, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth 230 Russells Mills Road, Dartmouth. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
