Most fall sports cleared to start at DHS, but football uncertain
State officials have given most Dartmouth High School fall sports the go-ahead — except for football, cheerleading, and unified basketball, according to a tweet posted from the school’s official sports Twitter account on Monday evening.
Field hockey, volleyball, golf, boys and girls cross country, and boys and girls soccer will all start from September 14, a date set by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association earlier this month.
It is currently unclear whether the other three sports will be held.
Dartmouth High School Athletic Director Andrew Crisafulli said that football hasn’t been cleared for any contact, which is why it is currently listed in the ‘no’ category.
“Hopefully that will change over the next few weeks,” he added.
An earlier version of this article erroneously stated that the three sports were cancelled for the season.
