My Brother’s Keeper to hold Christmas Toy Drive Nov. 5

Oct 21, 2022

My Brother’s Keeper will be hosting a Christmas Toy Drive to collect new, unwrapped toys for local families in need on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Unwrapped gifts can be brought to the My Brother’s Keeper Dartmouth Building, at 1015 Reed Road where volunteers will assist you with your donations.

Desired gifts include: Scooters or skateboards, Legos, video games (PS4 & XBOX One), LOL Surprise Dolls, superhero action figures, perfume gift sets, anything Boston sports teams (Patriots, Celtics, Red Sox, Bruins), dolls and accessories, jewelry making kits, science kits (especially slime kits), drawing supplies, infant toys, board games and card games, books, arts and crafts kits, and coloring books (for adults and children).

The toy drive will support the organization’s local Christmas Assistance Program. Since 1990, My Brother’s Keeper has brought joy to kids and removed stress from parents who could not provide presents for their children at Christmas.

Last year, My Brother’s Keeper delivered personally-selected gifts to 3,053 families — more than 13,000 children and adults — living in 95 communities from the North Shore down to Fall River and Cape Cod.

Many Christmas assistance programs only serve children under age 13, but My Brother’s Keeper serves the whole family — children, teens, and parents too.

In addition to their presents, each family also receives a $50 supermarket gift card to help provide a special Christmas meal.

Demand for assistance in Dartmouth remains very strong, the organization said, so the Christmas Toy Collection Drive will help My Brother’s Keeper provide as much assistance to families as possible.

Another way to support the Christmas Assistance Program is by making a financial donation online. My Brother's Keeper supplements Christmas donations by purchasing toys when necessary. Visit www.mybrotherskeeper.org for details.

My Brother’s Keeper is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that does not receive any local, state or federal funding, and relies on private donations to serve the community.
