National Night Out New Bedford, which both Dartmouth and UMass Dartmouth police were set to participate in on August 6, had been postponed. 

According to Neighborhoods United, which organizes the event, the cancellation was the result of concerns over EEE posted by mosquitoes. It will now be held on August 20, 1-4 p.m., at Ashley Park on Rivet St. in New Bedford.

The event will include meet-and-greets with Dartmouth, UMass Dartmouth, and area police, a bike raffle, face painting, arts and crafts, sports, a police versus fire department tug of war, and backpack raffles.
