The Lloyd Center is hosting a New Year’s Day Walk on the Gooseberry Neck Beach from 10 a.m. to noon.

Research Director Mark Mello will lead this peaceful walk, focusing on winter waterfowl and the marine life on shore. Participants will also observe the effects of the waves on the slope and shape of the beach.

This free event does not require pre-registration, and all ages are welcome. Meet at the Gooseberry Island parking lot at the end of East Beach Rd. in Westport. Dress warmly and wear hiking boots. For more information, go to www.lloydcenter.org.
