Openings available for Humane Society’s ‘Shelter Buddies’ program
The Humane Society and Shelter-SouthCoast, 31 Ventura Drive, Dartmouth, will host four sessions this summer of the annual Buddies Club for kids ages 6-10.
Shelter “Buddies’’ learn how to properly care for and interact with different types of animals as well as learn about how the non-profit Shelter operates. Everyone who attends will have a chance to make new friends, both human and non-human.
Each day, activities will include hearing from local guest speakers from the animal care field, daily projects, games, crafts and even some homework. Questions are always encouraged; the goal is to provide a safe, fun, learning environment every day.
Sessions will be held on July 10-14, July 24-28, Aug. 7-11 and Aug. 21-25. Children may attend any or all sessions Cost is $225 per child per session.
The sessions take place weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Participants must provide their own transportation to the shelter and should bring their own lunch. Adults will be asked to sign their children in and out every day.
