Padanaram Harbor was awarded the top honor of “Best Harbor in the U.S.” by readers of the site USHarbors.com for 2022.

The announcement marks the second time that Padanaram has won the top prize in the contest, having previously been crowned best harbor in 2019.

The South Dartmouth harbor was also listed among runners up for the last two years, winning third place in 2020 and the Northeast regional prize in 2021.

US Harbors said that 200,000 people participated in last year’s contest, though statistics for this year were not immediately available.

In honor of the award, Dartmouth will receive a commemorative plaque and US Harbors will throw a special live awards event with the harbormasters and residents of the winning harbors.
