Parks and Recreation seeking summer employees
Dartmouth Parks and Recreation is accepting applications for summer season employment.
Application packets can be downloaded and printed from the town’s website, town.dartmouth.ma.us, under the “Parks & Recreation” link. The entire application must be completed to be considered for a position. Those who worked for the department in the past can download a shorter application from the town website.
The town hires 50 seasonal summer employees for roles including lifeguards, gate guards, laborers, concession staff, tennis instructors and playground instructors.
All applications must be submitted by March 31 for returning applicants and April 21 for new applicants.
Interviews for selected applicants are scheduled for the week of May 1 with afterschool hours. Those selected for interviews will be given their interview time a week prior to the interview. Those selected for hire will be notified within two weeks from their interview date, and must attend a mandatory orientation schedule on June 5.
Lifeguards must take and complete a mandatory swim test at Round Hill on May 31 to be hired. All summer hires must complete a CPR and AED certification course before starting work. A coruse for hires will be offered through Parks and Recreation at a reduced cost.
