Patricia R. Cunha, 85

Oct 5, 2020

Our beloved mother, Patricia R. Cunha, 85, of Dartmouth, entered the gates of heaven on Thursday, October 1, 2020, surrounded by her loving family, after a short period of declining health. She was the widow of the late Daniel M. Cunha.

Mom was born Nov. 9, 1934, in Fall River to Laura Archambault. In 1953 she met and married her husband Daniel, and they moved “to the country” in Dartmouth, where she lived the rest of her life.

She was employed as a Dartmouth School Cafeteria Worker where she first worked at Dartmouth High and later at Potter School. — a job she truly loved, where she met many coworkers who would become lifetime friends.

Mom was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother – the former being her most treasured role. In retirement, she enjoyed spending winters in Florida with Dad and friends; summers back home working in the yard and cutting grass; but mostly she enjoyed her many family get-togethers and Christmas Eve with all her grandkids and great grandkids by her side. As a child, her family consisted of her Mom Laura, and 12brothers and sisters living in a small home in Fall River.

Mom was predeceased by our Dad Daniel, and is survived by her three children; David Cunha and his wife Terry, Karen Moura and her husband Bob, and Daniel Cunha and his wife Cheryl, all of Dartmouth. But life for Mom mostly revolved around her seven grandchildren; Danny, Kristin, Bobby, Rachel, Matthew, Cassidy and Erin; and four great grandchildren; Julie, Abbi, Eve and Jackson — all of whom will miss her forever.

We ask that in Mom’s memory, you show a kind gesture to someone in need or someone you just met.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2020 at 10 a.m. in St. George Church, 12 Highland Ave., Westport followed by burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Dartmouth. Visitation will be Tuesday 4-7 p.m. in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd.
