Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred Wednesday afternoon around 2 p.m.

Multiple sources confirm that a 74-year-old man was walking on Hathaway Road when he was struck and killed by a driver.

The accident does not appear to be criminal.

This is the second car-related fatality in the past month on Hathaway Road.

On April 20, a woman from Acushnet, Frances Petrak, 36, was slain on Hathaway Road in a single-car, speed-related accident.
