Students at Bishop Stang High delighted audiences with four performances of "Bye Bye Birdie" over the weekend.

The story revolved around rock and roll superstar Conrad Birdie (played by Mackenzie Long), who, to the dismay of his adoring fans, is about to be drafted into the Army. Also starring in the production was Jackson Markey, who played the role of Birdie's agent Albert Peterson, and his assistant Rose Alvarez, played by Micah Makowski.

The show was directed by Melissa Murphy-Leite, music was directed by Martha Gannon, who was assisted by Amanda Tarantelli and Christine Payette. Set construction was by Maurice Ouellette.

"I was extremely pleased to see the show all come together," said Leite. "The students worked extremely hard over the past few months gearing up for this massive show. Everything from the music, to the production numbers, tap numbers, fantastic acting, along with the set design and operation blended together in the show beautifully. We were also so pleased to see many of our local school students attend our production."
