Some Dartmouth parents have their kids feeling super after a fun-filled Saturday at DeMello School.
Members of the DeMello/Cushman Schools Parent Teacher Organization held a "Superhero Sprint and Carnival" at the school this past Saturday, with several superheros such as Spiderman and more exciting the students with their presence.
"I know how difficult it is to get an event together and for it to be successful," said Kathleen Amaral, a Dartmouth parent and chair of the Special Education Advisory Council. "My five-year-old had the time of her life and the attention to preparing for each detail was very evident. There is a lot of inspiring parent involvement in town, and the PTO at DeMello/Cushman should be commended."
DeMello School Principal Cathy Maccini said that volunteers including parents, teachers, Dartmouth High School and Greater New Bedford Voc-Tech students volunteered.
"The PTO's Superhero Sprint and Carnival was a huge success," she said.
