Police lieutenant promoted to provisional captain
May 10, 2017
Following a heart attack that has put Police Chief Bob Szala on leave, the Dartmouth Police have done a bit of restructuring.
With the Select Board's approval on May 8, Lieutenant James Storey was promoted to provisional captain so the department could continue a three-person command chain while Szala is gone.
"Thank you very much for the vote of confidence. I promise I won't let you down," said Storey at the meeting.
Storey began with the police as a dispatcher in 1994. He then became a patrolman in 2006, a sergeant in 2014, and recently lieutenant.
