Police warn against syringe disposal

Jul 19, 2021
Dartmouth Police have issued a strong reminder that syringes cannot be accepted at the station drug drop box.

Although a sign posted atop the sign reminds people that syringes are not acceptable, police are reporting that a bag of syringes was recently dropped into the box, not for the first time.

Police urged the public to use the drop box responsibly, so that the service can remain accessible to the public.

All activity in the lobby is recorded, police said.

For more information on safe disposal of syringes, police advised calling the local Board of Health.
