The 12U Gold Dartmouth Dynamites lived up to their name.

The team put in a dynamic performance to win the Summer Blast Tournament of the Dartmouth Girls Athletic League, which ran from Friday, July 12 to Sunday, July 14 at Quinn Elementary School fields.

Every girl on the team made a contribution in the tourney, which featured 20 teams from New York and New England, Coach Ryan Rymszewicz said.

“From the top of the line-up to the bottom, they all hit,’’ he said.

And defense made a big difference, he noted. The girls only made three errors in the entire tournament, which he described as “key’’ to the success.

“When the ball was hit to them, they scooped it up,’’ he observed.

Many of the team members have played together for years, which helps, Rymszewicz said. “They know each other well,’’ he said.

Teamwork wasn’t limited to the players. When the heavy rains on Saturday threatened cancellation of the tourney, coaches and parents showed up to clear the water from the field and allow the games to go on.

The girls are looking forward to a sweet time at their next destination, a tournament in Hershey, Pa. Their coach noted that “the girls are very excited about it.’’

The winning team members are: Shylee Turgeon, Rebecca Watson, Chloe Korolnek, Addy Thomas, Khloe Tripp, Taylor Beauparland, Hayden Camara, Reese Rymszewicz, Addy Labelle, Avery Imbeau, Raquel Estrella and Venna Botelho.

Assistant coaches are Brian Thomas, Tim Imbeau and Taylar Rymszewicz.
