“Get hooked on fishing, not drugs” at the 33rd annual Kids Fishing Derby.

Young fishers will gather on Saturday, July 22, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. with a rain date of Saturday July 29. Participants must register by July 10.

The competition is hosted at Mello’s Pond, 1 mile west of UMass Dartmouth on Old Westport Road. The entrance is on the south side, proceed down the dirt road slowly to the very end.

The contest is sponsored by the Dartmouth Knights of Columbus who will provide bait for kids ages 6 to 16. Participants are asked to bring a bucket for their catches and must be accompanied by an adult.
