Round The Bend to host first Open Farm Day of 2021

Apr 11, 2021

Round The Bend Farm will be hosting its first Open Farm Day this year on Saturday, April 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 92 Allens Neck Road in South Dartmouth.

Covid safety measures include greeters to explain how the farmer’s market will work (and keep numbers below maximum occupancy) and smaller-sized farm tours for groups of 12 or fewer with online reservations.

Family-friendly tours will take place at 9:30, 10:30, and 11:30 a.m. Tours of barnyard animals (including baby goats) will leave at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m., while the 10:30 tour will show off the farm’s gardens and greenhouses.

Masks are required at all times.

Lunch guests are encouraged to bring a blanket to have a socially distanced picnic on the grass. Sandwiches can be preordered online, and food and shop orders can be placed online and picked up on Saturday.

All online orders must be made by midnight on Thursday, April 15 (or until supplies last).

Sandwiches on offer include 100% grass-fed beef burgers, homemade vegetarian black bean burgers, and bratwurst sandwiches.

Items available for purchase this month include 100% grass-fed beef and non-GMO, pasture-raised pork from Paradox Acres; non-GMO goat meat from Goatbusters; farm-grown spinach, homemade blackberry jam, peanut butter, granola, kimchi, gin kits, and more; herbal tea blends, tinctures and salves; and Round The Bend swag like sweatshirts, T-shirts, magnets and patches.

The farm will also accept glass jars (with or without lids) to be recycled.

Visit the online shop at www.rtbfarmshop.org/shop/open-farm-day-/11 to preorder sandwiches, reserve a spot on a tour, or place an order for pick up.
