Seal sighting is a whale of a time

The Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust and Lloyd Center co-organized a nature walk along Salter's Point on March 25, with the goal of spotting larger wildlife offshore.

About 50 walkers attended, said DNRT Outreach Coordinator Jim Bride. The group spotted at least nine harbor seals, along with assorted birds and other wildlife, he said.

“It is a lovely walk along the water and fun to see seals from the shoreline. Many people are surprised that seals even visit Dartmouth,” said DNRT Executive Director Dexter Mead, who attended the hike.

DNRT's next scheduled walk will be around the vernal pool at Parsons Reserve on April 8 at 10 a.m.
