Sebastian “Tacha” Pinheiro, 80
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, the son of the late Turibio and Leopoldina (Azevedo) Pinheiro, he lived in New Bedford and Dartmouth for many years.
Mr. Pinheiro was formerly employed at Dartmouth Finishing until his retirement.
He enjoyed woodworking, painting, and working around the house. He also enjoyed making model ships.
He is survived by his wife, Milda; his son, Hilario “Larry” Pinheiro and his wife Suzanne; two granddaughters, Carli and Taylor; his siblings, Hildebrando Pinheiro and his wife Telma, Eulalia Pinheiro, Lourdes Pereira and her husband Olimpio, and Ida Smith and her husband William; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was predeceased by his siblings, John Pinheiro, Hilario Pinheiro, Esmeralda Caldas, and Celina Almeida.
Due to current restrictions on public gatherings, a private family burial will be held at Rural Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
