Round the Bend Farm will host its second annual Seed Sovereignty Field Day on February 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The annual event, run in partnership with the Massachusetts chapter of the Northeast Organic Farming Association, Freed Seed Federation, and Young Farmer Network, is a day-long program which will teach farmers everything there is to know about seed sovereignty.

The program for the day includes three sessions covering biennial seed production, cucurbits, and alternative seed models. A potluck lunch is also included.

Session instructors include Dr. John Navazio, a senior plant breeder at Johnny’s Selected Seed, Heron Breen from Fedco Seeds, Hannah Traggisis from the Massachusetts Horticultural Society, and Lia Babitch, co-general manager and garden manager at Turtle Tree Seed.

Tickets are $35 for members of NOFA and YFN, or $45 for non-members. Events are held at Round the Bend’s 92 Allen Neck Rd. farm.
