Select Board considers ending remote-only board and commission meetings

Jan 7, 2025

At a Select Board meeting on Monday, Jan. 6, the Select Board discussed sending a letter to town boards and commissions announcing their desire to transition back to holding meetings primarily in-person.

During the Covid pandemic, the state implemented an executive order that allows for remote meetings. This order is set to end March 31, 2025, and it’s currently unclear whether the state plans to extend the order, according to Chris Vitale, interim co-town administrator.

The Select Board ultimately decided to hold off on sending the letter to see what decision the state makes, which is likely to be announced sometime in February.
