The Select Board honored long-time Planning Board member Joseph E. Toomey, Jr. for his 25 years of service to the Planning Board.

At the March 25 Select Board meeting, Toomey was presented with a citation recognizing his service to the town. Several months ago, Toomey announced he would not seek re-election and was retiring from the board and his day job.

“I learned a lot, and I had a great time,” Toomey said. “I’m going to miss the Planning Board believe it or not.”

Select Board members praised his dedication, noting that although at times they disagreed, everyone respected Toomey for putting in the time he did to serving the town.
