Shirley (Mead) Vital, 84
Shirley (Mead) Vital, 84, of Dartmouth, passed away on Tuesday, June 25 at Hathaway Manor surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Edmund R. Vital.
Born in Dartmouth, daughter of the late Charles H. Mead, Jr. And Eleanor (Peters) Mead, she lived most of her life in Dartmouth.
Mrs. Vital had worked for Ginger Peachy as a special machine operator producing button holes until her retirement in 1988.
She enjoyed reading and loved her family very much.
Her family includes a daughter, Patricia Vital of Dartmouth; and three grandchildren, Nicholas, Ryan and Kayla Lake. She was mother of the late Debra A. Lake and sister of the late Betty A. Tomko.
Visiting hours were held on Saturday, June 29 from 8 to 10 a.m. with a funeral service at 10 a.m. in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd. Burial took place in the South Dartmouth Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452 or the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St., Suite 250, Framingham, MA 01701.
