On Thursday, April 17 from 1 to 3p.m., artist Susan Cabral will offer a sketching class at the Southworth Library. Novices to more advanced art students are invited to participate. The title of this year’s class is “Pencil Drawing of Fruit with the Five Value Tones.”

Cabral teaches workshops in various locations on the Cape and the South Coast, including in her South Dartmouth studio. She has won numerous awards and has presented her work in the Norton Gallery, the New Bedford Whaling Museum, Rotch Jones-Duff House Museum, the Newport Art Museum and the Peabody Museum. She is also a published photographer and illustrator.

A sign-up sheet will be at the desk at the library. Sign up is required as the class is limited to the first 20 participants. The class will be held at the library, located at 732 Dartmouth St.
