The Lloyd Center for the Environment will be hosting a Slocum River Sunset Kayak Tour on Friday, May 31 starting at their 430 Potomska Road headquarters.

Participants will take a sunset kayaking trip from 6 to 8 p.m. along the Slocum River estuary to watch wading and shore birds flock to feed and explore the ecosystem of the salt marsh. 

The trip will be led by certified instructors that provide comprehensive sea kayak instruction, guided tours, environmental-education, team-building programs, kayak rentals, and unique adventure trips. 

Beginners welcome from ages 14 and up. All equipment will be provided, but please bring your own drink (non-alcoholic) and water-resistant footwear.  

Pre-registration required before noon on May 30. Spots fill up quickly, so early registration is advised.

The trip costs $55 for Lloyd Center members and $65 for non-members.
