St. Peter's Episcopal Church to offer series on seeking joy

Feb 21, 2017

The St. Peter's Episcopal Church and The Bridge: A Center for Hope and Healing will hold a book discussion in March and April on the "The Book of Joy," by the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Cultivating joy was the subject of a five-day conversation between the Dalai Lama and Tutu, Archbishop Emeritus of South Africa. The book study series will help participants to develop ways to cultivate greater well-being in their daily lives, using as a framework called "eight pillars of joy." It will also help participants achieve a deeper sense of purpose and meaning in life.

The free discussion group is open to everyone in the community (regardless of religious affiliation or denomination).

Sessions will be held on Sundays in March and April, 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m., and on a couple of Tuesday evenings. For more information and for a complete schedule, call (508) 997-0903.

Pre-registration is required to participate. Participants must purchase their own copy of the book.
