State primary results are in
Of Dartmouth's 21,907 registered voters, 3.79 percent turned out for state primary elections on September 8.
The only contested race in the lineup was for the Republican candidate for Representative in Congress, Ninth District. Mark Alliegro won the Dartmouth vote, with 215 of the 344 total votes, and he also won statewide. Thomas O'Malley, Jr. lost the Dartmouth vote, with only 129 votes.
Incumbent Thomas Hodgson was in an uncontested race on the Republican ballot for Bristol County Sheriff, and he took 281 of 282 votes.
The Democratic ballot had no contested races: for Representative in Congress, Ninth District, incumbent William Keating took the vote with no contest (417 of 421 votes); Councillor, First District, Joseph Ferreira (375 of 379 votes); Senator in General Court, incumbent Mark Montigny (415 of 421 votes); Representative in General Court, incumbent Christopher Markey (425 of 427 votes); Bristol County Commissioner, Paul Kitchen (329 of 648 votes) and John Mitchell (310 of 648 votes); and District Attorney, incumbent Thomas Quinn, III (444 of 445 votes).
The Green Rainbow Party and Independent Party had no candidates running for any office.
Republican and Democratic party winners in the state primaries will face off in the November election for titles.
