Things to do in Dartmouth: Week of Oct. 5
There’s always a lot to do in Dartmouth. This Week, catch a Zeiterion-sponsored show at UMass and give a spooky greeting to the North Branch Librarians at their Halloween Fun event
Thursday, Oct. 5
An eclectic concert at the college
While the Zeiterion in New Bedford is undergoing renovations, some of its shows are heading to UMass Dartmouth’s campus. On Thursday, multitalented musician Jake Shimabukuro will take over the main auditorium at 8 p.m.
Shimabukuro is known for his skills on the ukulele.
Tickets are $39 and may be purchased at Zeiterion.org
Friday, Oct. 6
Thrift some threads at the farmers’ market
The weekly Friday farmers’ market outside St. Mary’s church has some new company: the church itself has opened up a thrift shop.
The farmers’ market goes from 12 p.m to 5 p.m., while the thrift shop is open from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., making it easy to hit both stops at once.
Go to a gallery opening
The Dartmouth Cultural Center will begin its new “Folks and Fables” duo exhibition with an opening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 6. The exhibition celebrates the brand new work of Don Cadoret and Mary Ellen Flinn.
Saturday, Oct. 7
Tune in to the trees
The Lloyd Center for the Environment’s Third Annual Music in the Woods invites Lloyd Center members and the general public to enjoy a musical afternoon on the Center’s trails and grounds of the Lloyd Center. The event is free for Lloyd Center members and $50 for non-members. This year, non-members that reserve a ticket also get a free family membership at the Lloyd Center.
Attendees can choose their preferred event time, including 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., or 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
The rain date is the following Sunday.
