Things to do: Look for mushrooms, browse crafts
There’s a lot happening in Dartmouth in any given week, here’s what’s coming up.
Saturday, Oct. 16
Mushroom walk
Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust will sponsor a mushroom walk at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16 at Destruction Brook Woods. Attendees will walk through the woods to identify the many types of mushrooms found throughout. This is not a foraging walk. The walk is free, but registration is required by calling (508) 991-2289.
Open Farm Day
Hay rides and a workshop about tick-borne illnesses will be part of Open Farm Day, to be held Oct. 16 at Round the Bend Farm, 92 Allens Neck Road.
Hayride tours are available at 10 a.m. and noon. The tour includes the barnyard and gardens.
Space is limited. Cost is $5 per person, with children three and under admitted free. To reserve a spot, visit RTBFarmshop.org.
Craft fair
The Dartmouth VFW Post 9059 Auxiliary will be holding a craft fair and bake sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16 at the VFW on 144 Cross Road.
There will be 13 tables of gifts from local artisans to peruse. Admission is free.
